1. Our Purpose & Values
Purpose: Uplifting our People / Piki te tangata
Values:
- All relationships matter: We make meaningful & lasting connections
- Embrace the challenge: Better then before
- Enjoyment at the heart: Having fun matters
- Unapologetically authentic: Our people are celebrated for who they are
2. Franchise Development & Opportunities
Our development teams exist to serve something bigger than a season.
The Comets and our Men’s Programme are not standalone teams — they are intentional pathways. Their role is to:
- Prepare National Netball League (NNL) athletes for progression into the Stars environment, other ANZ Premiership environments, and ultimately the Silver Ferns
- Provide meaningful, visible opportunities in the men’s game
- Strengthen high-performance capability within South and East Auckland
- Build a connected franchise identity across all programmes
3. Who We Are
We are:
- Community-rooted in South and East Auckland
- Committed to inclusive opportunities
- Focused on long-term athlete and coach development
- Connected to high-performance standards
- One Franchise, not three disconnected teams
Netball Centre (involved with clubs, schools or rep teams associated with these centres) 4. Recruitment Process
All roles will be for one season, at the end of each season there will be a review process where the incumbent will be offered an extension or advised that the role will go out for EOI, with the potential for them to re-apply. The outcome of this will be communicated to the wider community. We need to balance success, development with continuing to be able to offer opportunities for others.
- Open (EOI advertised via EDM, Zone & Centre databases and Stars Social channels)
- Criteria-based
- Panel-assessed
- Values-aligned
- Feedback-inclusive
All applicants should understand:
- Why decisions were made
- Where they sit in the pathway
- What development opportunities may still be available
